Frequently asked questions
Because you deserve clarity before stepping into something new.
-
We’ll begin with a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. If we decide to move forward, I’ll schedule your intake session, where we’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, your history, and your hopes for this space.
The First Session Is About Landing Softly
I’ll ask questions to get to know you, but this isn’t an interview. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel ready to. My goal is to help you feel seen, not rushed.
Sessions are 53 minutes and typically once per week to start.
We’ll shape the focus of our work together, what healing might look like for you, and how to get there at a pace that feels right. And if it’s not the right fit, that’s okay too. I’ll help you find someone who is.

That’s such an important question, and one you’re allowed to ask.
Finding the right therapist is less about credentials and more about connection.
Here’s what I can tell you about working with me:
I’m grounded, warm, and culturally rooted. I work well with women who carry a lot, high achievers, cycle breakers, and those who are used to doing it all but are ready to stop doing it alone. If that sounds like you, and you’re looking for a space where you don’t have to over-explain, where your story is honored in all its complexity, we might be a good fit.
You deserve to feel at ease with the person you open up to. Let’s see if that might be me.

No pressure. Just a conversation to explore what you’re carrying and whether Alivio Counseling feels like the right place to begin. -
Yes. I offer therapy in English, Spanish, or Spanglish, whichever reflects the way you move through the world.
You don’t have to choose one language.

You get to show up as you are. -
Yes. Healing doesn’t depend on a couch, it depends on connection and safety. We’ll meet via secure Google Meet from wherever you feel comfortable, anywhere in Texas or Nevada.

Yes. While I center the experiences of Latinas, I also welcome women who resonate with this kind of healing, relational, grounded, and culturally rooted.
If you’ve ever felt like you had to explain your identity to be understood, you may find this space welcoming.
-
The kind of work I offer isn’t quick-fix or surface-level. It’s spacious, intentional, and often rooted in exploring what’s been carried for years, sometimes generations.
Many of the women I work with have done short-term therapy before. They’ve learned the coping skills, but they’re still carrying the pain. They come to Alivio because they’re ready to go deeper.
We’ll move at your pace and check in often. No pressure to stay longer than needed, but this is a space where long-term, relational work is welcomed and supported.
-
No. We go at your rhythm, not mine. You don’t have to share your whole story on day one. You don’t even have to know where to begin. I’ll help you settle in gently.

Therapy is an investment, not just in healing, but in your peace, your energy, and your future.
I currently accept Aetna and Aetna-affiliated plans.
I use Alma to verify benefits and manage billing. Once your information is submitted, we’ll both receive your coverage details, including your copay amount.
If I’m not in-network with your plan, you may be able to use out-of-network benefits. I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) for possible reimbursement, and you can submit it directly to your insurance company.
Many clients choose to pay privately, this keeps your care confidential and just between us.
My current fee: $160 per 53-minute session
I do not offer a sliding scale at this time, though I’m happy to help you explore options that fit your needs including HSA/FSA cards, reimbursement through out-of-network benefits, or referrals to trusted low-cost providers if needed.I also offer therapy and support groups throughout the year, which provide a more accessible option and a sense of community for women who prefer shared healing spaces.
