What Is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a gentle, evidence-based therapy that helps you heal from trauma — not by reliving it, but by helping your brain and body process it in a new and safe way.

It’s especially helpful for:

  • Childhood trauma or painful past experiences

  • Negative self-beliefs that won’t go away

  • Anxiety, panic, or emotional overwhelm

  • Feeling disconnected or reactive without knowing why

With EMDR, you don’t have to share every detail.
It works with your brain and body’s natural healing rhythm — using gentle bilateral stimulation like eye movements, tapping, or sound.

What EMDR Looks Like in Session

In session, we might use guided prompts, slow bilateral movements (like tapping or visual cues), and grounding tools to help your brain reprocess what’s been stuck — without needing to retell the whole story.

You’ll stay aware, in control, and supported throughout the process. Together, we move gently between past and present — so your body can finally understand that what happened is over, and you are safe now.

How I Use EMDR in My Practice

EMDR with me isn’t just a technique — it’s a relationship. We move slowly, with care and trust, so your healing unfolds in a way that feels safe and true to you.

As an EMDRIA-Certified EMDR Therapist and Consultant, I guide EMDR work with deep respect for each person’s rhythm — whether they’re beginning their own healing or learning to guide others.

  • Parts Work (IFS-Inspired) — to honor the younger or protective parts within you

  • Body-Based Resources — to help you stay connected to your body in safe, gentle ways

  • Polyvagal and Attachment Lenses — to support your nervous system without overwhelm

We don’t rush the process. We build safety first. We go slow — at the pace of trust.
